Palazzo Ducale di Mantova is a Ducal palace. This is a cathedral complex in the Mantua city. The museum was built in the period of 1290 - 1708 years and served as the main residence of the Italian Gonzaga dukes, who ruled in Mantua.

All museum building is connected with large galleries and corridors, these architectural structures are decorated with beautiful gardens and courtyards. The main palace complex contains approximately 500 rooms, the area is about 34 thousand square meters. Today the palace complex of the Palazzo Ducale is a museum.

One of the oldest parts of the palace is the Palazzo del Capitano or "Palace of the captain." It was built in the 14th century by a captain of people Buonakolsi Guido, his family ruled Mantua from 1271 until in 1328.

Around the end of 14th century Bartolino from Novara built the San-Giorgio castle. Around the next century Domus Nova, or "New house", was built, authored by Luke Finchelli. In addition to Nova Domus Luke erected Korte Nuova, or "New yard".
